Hello there! This week's
challenge involves paper piecing, which, as defined by the lovely
Jo, requires the following: "you stamp your image onto white card and also onto patterned paper. You then cut out the shapes you want from the patterned paper and glue it to your image on the white card. You can paper piece anything but its usually clothing and accessories."
For the rules and how to enter to win a $25 gift voucher to
our store, check out the
Simon Says Stamp Challenge blog and look in the left side column for directions. : )
Here is what our brilliant Design Team has made for this week:
Jo used buttons on her card, which is always a nice touch. Like these buttons? Check out
Kioshi buttons by
Basic Grey! To browse our complete collection:
all buttons!
Martine used a gorgeous poinsettia flower on her card.
Tim Holtz and
Prima joined together to make
Poinsettias (leaves
and flowers included in this tin - score!!). I also like the Willow with Lantern Stamp (by
Whiff of Joy - expected to come in any day now). Like the "Christmas Wishes" sentiment? For something similar, we have
Holiday Wishes by
Hero Arts - it's a really great variety of holiday sentiments!
Chris used a superb embossing folder by
Cuttlebug called - you guessed it -
Stars. Like the pink and white star paper? Me too!! It's a lot like
Magnolia's Card Stock Paper
Pink Starlit. (
Pink Starlit also comes in the
Fairytale Paper Pack)
Lols used a sweet stamp by
Penny Black called
Sweet Thing! I really like the embellishments in the top right corner too - these are
Robin's Nest Dew Drops in the color
Purple Hair (hehe). There's so much to like about this card, but I'll just pick one more specialty item - the flower-shaped buttons. I can't get enough of shaped buttons. Try
Flower Card Buttons by
Hero Arts for a close look.
Debby embossed the white background behind Tilda - such a subtle, pretty accent. It's a great additive to a Christmas card - try
Cuttlebug's
D'vine Swirls. I really like the punch around the image too. For a different, (but in my opinion equally as attractive), punch, try
Modern Garland by
Martha Stewart.
Christine used a Magnolia stamp called
Lace Banner which is super because it comes blank so you can add whatever sentiment you want! Did you know what
Magnolia has a whole collection of flower and leaf embellishments? For something like what Christine used, check out the
Purple flowers.
Jackie used pearl embellishments on her card. If you need them, we have
Medium Accent Pearls by Hero Arts.
Domi's owl stamp is so cute!!
Penny Black makes this stamp and it's called
Nocturne. For a tag like this, check out the
Manila 100 Bulk Pack!
Jane used gorgeous papers!! If you want something very similar, try
Cappella by
Basic Grey. I love how she colored the
Tilda image as well. If you want an effect like this, try
Copic Markers!
Marcea's image (by
C.C. Designs) has sparkly wings that look so pretty! For this effect, you can use embossing powder and a heat tool. Might I recommend
Holographic (an embossing powder by
Ranger) and the
Precision Heat Embossing Tool.
Heather used some exquisite lace ribbon on her card. We now have brand new ribbon by
Hero Arts - try
Lace Ribbon.
Thanks again to the Design Team for their inspiring creativity! Please at least check out the
Simon Says Stamp Challenge (and the
Simon Says Stamp & Show) if you're having creator's block - there is SO much to see!
***BLOG CANDY ALERT*** This week, one lucky winner will receive
Lace Ribbon by
Hero Arts as a thank you for following and commenting on this blog!! The winner will be announced next Wednesday!
Happy Crafting!
