Hello and Happy STAMPtember to you all! We are all SO pumped for the fun stuff we have going on for the month! I hope you're getting excited for the give-aways, guest spots, techniques, and showcases!
Today I'm going to show you a gorgeous technique from the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft blog! A beautiful design by Jill Foster.
I love how perfect this card is for the season we're in here right now. The orange/yellow color scheme provokes Autumn feelings.. but the flowers and the proud, blue bird bring out the summery vibe! For more gorgeous inspiration, check out Jill Foster's blog HERE.
First when you start out, use the Penny Black Nature's Day wood mounted stamp onto a piece of smooth cardstock.
Next, begin coloring in the stamp with the Faber-Castell Yellow Art GRIP Colored Pencils. Use oranges, reds, and yellows to color flowers, again starting with your lightest color and adding darker colors on top, leaving a few white highlights on each petal. I love these Faber-Castell Pencils because you can add color upon color without any waxy build-up or "blooming".
Next get that beautiful bird colored in with your Blue Art GRIP Colored Pencils. Another reason I really am proud of these products is over 80% of these pencils are produced from reforested wood. On top of that, the varnish on the barrels is an eco-friendly water-based lacquer first developed by Faber-Castell!
These pencils are so easy to blend, and with all the colors it's so easy to make your designs colored exactly how you'd want them to be! If you'd want to make your flower a more warm color, you could always use the Red Art GRIP Colored Pencils too!
Now it's time for my FIRST time to offer you all BLOG CANDY and I'm so excited! Just comment and tell me your FAVORITE costume you've ever seen for Halloween or a costume party and you could WIN this Hero Arts Clear Stamp Set! The winner will be announced on tomorrow's blog! (Get ready for LOTS of opportunities like this ALL of STAMPtember!)
