Simon Finally has Electricity!

Our Data lines, phone lines, lights, computers, email are all up and running again! Thanks for your patience with us! The wind storm that hit Columbus, Ohio 2 days ago put most of our city out of electricity! Thank the Good Lord for beautiful 75 degree days, we were able to spend lots of extra outdoors time with our families. Most businesses and schools were closed too. Isn't it amazing that Hurricane IKE struck us all the way up in Ohio! Fallen trees, snapped electrical lines, even traffic lights were blown over!

We'll be back tomorrow with some pretty pics, but we have some catching up to do!

Don't forget to shop for your holiday projects in our online store: www.SimonSaysStamp.com. We are still offering FREE USA Shipping for orders over $50 and FREE INTERNATIONAL shipping for orders over $100.

Simon Says Stamp GO TEAM!

Although, our favorite football Team, The Ohio State Buckeyes, got beat this weekend by USC, we cheered them on faithfully!

Want to see the shaker we used to cheer them on? One of our Simon creative team members, Heather, made the shaker with our Simon Says Stamp Clear Stamp set "You're A Champ Sports". The GO TEAM Letters were stamped with Inkadinkado's "Jersey Alphabet" Clear stamp set and an inkadinkado clear acrylic block.

Heather used a white label stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Ink. The label sticks easily to a water bottle. (GO GREEN! Recycle!) Add some ribbon, and some colored beads or rocks of your choice and, GO TEAM!

Imagine the possibilities to cheer on your favorite school team! Change the ribbon color, the bead colors, add more to the label, get creative! It's a really quick and easy, (AND FUN) project for you to do with your kids too!

Columbus, Ohio was hit by a terrible storm this weekend and all 4 of our Simon Team Gals working today had no electricity for primping this morning, and were therefore a bit camera shy. Sorry! we weren't allowed to post any smiling faces today!

Who is your favorite sports team? Be the 10th PERSON to comment and let us know and you will receive this Simon Says Stamp Clear Stamp Set "You're a Champ Sports"! Bowling, Softball, Baseball, Football, Basketball, Soccer, and even Hockey are all part of this wonderful Sports Set! *Blog Candy* Alert!

Inspiration Compliments of Tim Holtz!

Check out Tim Holtz's website!

Here is one of our blogger's favorite inspirations! Don't forget to read our blog from September 1, you may win $100 in Tim Holtz goodies!

ALSO, We sell all of his goodies in our store Simon Says Stamp!

ENJOY!

Tag9 "hardware holiday" -
supplies:
Glossy Accents
Craft Distresser
craft sheet
distress inks: fired brick, peeled paint, brushed corduroy
adirondack metallic paint dabber
mini mister
ink blending tool & foam
stamp set
grungeboard
texture hammer
tag and embellishments

Step1_11

step 1: stamp the santa image with black waterproof ink.

Step2_11

step 2: stamp the tree with peeled paint distress ink. (*tip: to create a collage look, stamp your image off of the edge of the tag.)

Step3_9

step 3: stamp the "believe" stamp with fired brick distress ink - overlapping the other images.

Step4_9

step 4: using the ink blending foam and tool, apply color to areas of the tag.

Step5_10

step 5: drag paper distresser along the edges of the tag.

Step6_9

step 6: ink edges using brown distress ink with ink blending foam and tool to finish background.

Step7_8

step 7: to create hammered hardware for tag, remove 2 hinges from grungeboard elements pack, 1 bookplate, and numbers 2 and 5.

Step8_8

step 8: paint hardware grungeboard pieces using metallic paint dabbers and numbers with black paint dabber - let dry. (*tip: don't forget to attach the grungeboard pieces to the craft sheet with glue dots so they are easier to paint)

Step9_8

step 9: attach metal bump tip to texture hammer.

Step10_8

step 10: place hardware grungeboard shapes on to hammer mat.

Step11_8

step 11: mist painted grungeboard with water. (*tip: whenever you are texturing heavy board, be sure to mist with water first. this will help the thicker materials hold the texture).

Step12_8

step 12: start hammering the piece using firm pressure, but smaller taps - we're not building a house here so don't just bang away on it. (*tip: continue hammering pieces until desired look is achieved. grungeboard will not fall apart when hammered. if you need to re-wet, no problem).

Step13_5

step 13: ink hammered pieces using ink blending foam and tool. (*tip: this will get inks into the crevices your created with the hammer).

Step14_5

step 14: attach brads to tag, and since the texture hammer also works great on metal, make your brads look like old nail heads by tapping on the tops of them to dent them. (*tip: be sure you are working on the hammer mat as it will protect your work surface and provide more resistance to the hammer).

Step15_4

step 15: attach painted numbers with adhesive of choice.

Be Inspired!

Elisabete Uses Simon Says Stamp A Little Birdie Told Me and Cool Monkey Baby Love Clear Stamps in Her Designs!

Check out the latest inspirations from our Design Team member Elisabete!

Sara D Designed the Stamp sets: "Cool Monkey and Baby Love" and "A Little Birdie Told Me" exclusively for Simon Says Stamp.

I love the colors she uses with the "A Little Birdie Told Me" Hand Stamped card. She even uses real stitching in both her "Happy Bird-Day" and "Just Hanging around!" cards.

Prima Flowers add a special touch to the cards. Attached with Brads, the layered flowers look so real!

Congratulations to Elisabete for a job well done! Check out her Ebay user ID: bebete896xco sometime to see what hand made cards she is selling now!

Simon Says Stamp: FAMILY LETTERS

Hey Bloggers! We've received some beautiful Design Team Samples from Kathy G to share with our blogging family! When I say "BEAUTIFUL" I mean, just ga ga Gaaaahgeous! The 6" by 4" clear stamp set, Family Letters, is a Simon Says Stamp exclusive design. Kudos to Sara D for creating the stamps. Look what beautiful work Kathy has made! These unique stamps offer a HUGE range of possibilities!

I find it a challenge to make cards for the men in my life and this stamp set offers a great solution to that! With words like, Mom, Sister, brother, Daugher, Aunt, uncle, Son, Dad, feature someone on your scrapbook pages with these stamps, endless possibilities! Kathy used brads and flowers to spice up her designs. Love it!

What do you think of the wooden letter she decorated? Cool?! Decorating a small notebook is a useful gift too.

Enjoy the *eye candy compliments of Kathy G!

What's your favorite design? Let Kathy know, I bet she'd appreciate your comments!
