Any Mac Users Out There!?

Hi folks! HELP!

Quick question: Do any of you use an Apple Mac computer ? My hubby wants one for his birthday and Tim Holtz told me at the CHA Show "once you go Mac, you never go back". Hubby thinks I should listen to Tim! ....what are your thoughts??!

If you are a Mac user, do you have any tips in looking for a new machine?

Luv,
Heidi

  1. I got a MacBook (laptop) a year ago and I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!! It's super fast and doesn't get viruses, which I love. I'm hoping to trade in my desktop shortly to get a Mac as well. :-)

  2. Well worth the money if you are into graphics, gaming and photography. Really good machines, did a lot of research about them but did not get one as I could not justify the cost at the time. Do know a few people at my last photography club that just loved the Mac. My advice is to get the best spec. you can.

    Hope that helps a little.

  3. I was a tech support specialist for the past several years and I do love the Mac...no viruses are a HUGE plus...BUT you will pay more for anything Mac related!!

Hope this helps and good luck shopping!

  5. My husband uses a Mac for his laptop, and I agree, it works so very well, for photo, gaming and graphics. It's so much better than PC, I love it too. And yes you'll be paying more for repair and other programs. Give it shot and Go for it! xox ~Jeni

  6. Anyone who works with graphics or photography should invest in a Mac. Tim is right. Can't give you any pointers, as I only dream of being one of the entitled 6%. I get to hear about the wonders of the Mac through my magazine editor/graphic designer Godmother. One day... Well worth the moolah.

  11. Hi, I was converted to a Mac for the desktop by my brother who is a graphic artist. I LOVE my huge screen Mac!!! I have a pc notebook but next time that will be a Mac too. Yes the no virus situation was a plus but for any graphics this machine is tops. If you're worried about your Windows applications don't because the Mac has the facility to use that too - you can split the hard drive. You'll never look back!!!

  12. I have a friend that has a mac, she loves it, when it works. When ever I talk to her she it seems to be always in the shop. And it costs her an arm and a leg to fix...about not getting viruses, you put the flip to windows on there and all bets are off. If your husband wants one for himself, get it, then you can have first hand experience whether you would get it for your business, or even for yourself.

  14. I've been sayin the same as Tim for years, Once you go Mac, you never go back!!! I didn't like Macs for years, now I can't stand to touch PC. Yea, they cost more, but you really get what you pay for. They have a tendency to last longer, perform smoother, very intuitive {ie. if you think dragging this box over here should do "this," it usually does exactly "this."}, and, well, they're Macs ;)

  15. LOVE my Mac! Not only is it easier and more intuitive to use, there are MANY fewer viruses targeting Macs.

  16. Hi Heidi,

I don´t have a Mac myself but all friends who have one love it and never would go back.
One of our close friends has this super slim notebook which is so quick and easy to use.
    I just can recommend it.

    Have a nice day.

  17. My friend who teaches computer graphics suggested a MAC when I was computer hunting, so I checked them out and ended up buying one.... Long story short, so glad I did, not only for the virus issue, but the graphics, picture quality, customer support, they are outstanding. You can buy a support package for a minimal amount, and it is so worth it. I am not the most computer literate person, so when I call for a question, they are extremely helpful and the classes are wonderful. If you switch to a MAC you will never want to go back, they're the best!!!!!
