Finally, the cutest stamps around are now available as UNMOUNTED SETS! Not only is this an affordable way to add to your collection, it's also a great space saver!The creator of these mice designs is Ellen Jareckie. As a child, she spent much of her spare time drawing. In addition to that, she kept a variety of pets throughout her childhood. These included a pet pig named Pipsqueak (who was raised on a bottle), a Bobwhite quail named Quincy, some lizards, snakes, goats, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, and of course mice. Her first encounter with mice occurred when her sister, Wren, brought home from school a mouse named Speedy. She immediately fell in love with the soft, warm and tiny creature. Not long after that Ellen also raised a litter of orphaned baby wild mice which were later released in a nearby field.
Of all the animals Ellen has drawn, however, the mice continue to be by far the most popular. Maybe this is partly because of the humanlike expressions Ellen adds to the mice or maybe because people are fascinated by their small size in comparison to our relatively large human world. In any event, after all these years of drawing mice Ellen continues to enjoy creating these whimsical characters and it shows in the look on Mudpie Mouse's face when he gets to eat a cookie that's as big as he is!

It is such a difficult choice as they are all so cute. It would help if I could find larger pictures to see the detail better, but when I clicked on them, the page that opened up had the same size image. Anyway, based on what I could see, if I have to pick one, I guess it would be "opening presents". It would be really fabulous to win a set and try them out in person; thanks for giving us a chance to win.

ReplyDeleteI have always loved the House Mouse stamps. It's impossible to pick just one. There is something I like in all of them. I am really unable to just one. The ones that I am drawn to the most are SLEEPY STOCKINGS, OPENING PRESENTS and FEATHERED HUGS (I think, like I said, too hard to choose, lol).

ReplyDeleteI am SO excited that HM is offering UM stamps; now if they'd go digital I'd REALLY be on cloud nine. I have a huge stash of the adorable creatures and this will really help my storage issues. For this initial release, all the sets are great. I can't pick one favorite and would have to toss a coin if I won for either Balloons or Cake. Thanks Heidi for all the great products, blogs and support you give to the crafting blog community!
