Welcome to day #2 our Simon Says STAMPtember festivities!
We thought this was the perfect time to feature one of our all time favorite stampers - Jennifer Mcguire! Coincidentally, she also lives in Ohio. I am honored and blessed to call Jennifer a friend. She is a gem of a person who is talented beyond words.
Most stampers already know the lowdown on Jennifer. I met Jennifer through Hero Arts as she is an artist and education director for USA based Hero Arts Rubber Stamp Company. However, she is so much more than that! If you want her professional bio, check it out HERE - it will blow you away. Her Blog is always fresh, fun, full of great information and it is HERE.
Although Jennifer strongly encourages using supplies that you already own, joining her class will get you a 15% Student discount to Simon for any other class supplies you might want too!

Getting to know Jennifer through the years has truly been getting to love her. She and I each have a son (mine is 4 and hers is 5). I have 1 daughter, Jennifer has 2. We are both blessed to be loving what we do -both in the home as moms and out of the home as stampers.
Want to fall in love with her too? I'll spill some scoop on her only if you promise to not tell her that you heard it from me! I thought I'd share these fun facts - more reasons why I love this girl!
When she runs errands she works really hard to find something to compliment others about - whether it's the fancy manicure on the lady checking her out at the grocery or the sweater on the lady working at the mall - she actively works to be kind and make them smile. It sets a great example for her son too.
Her other dream job is a high school calculus teacher. Can you believe that she's a math geek who majored in Mechanical Engineering. She worked 5 years engineering, and then started scrapbooking to lift her spirits. Now she is here to stay!
The photo above is her at NASA! She did a project for NASA when she was in college at the University of Kentucky. Check out the purple nails ;) The photo is of her in the vomit comet.
UNLIKE most of us, Jennifer never ever stamps at night.
Can you believe that years ago she said "I don't understand why anyone would buy stamps. You could just use clipart or stickers - what a waste of money!" In a few months she owned quite a few stamps and in a few years was happily drowning in them. Now she says: "Stamps are the best crafting tool money can buy!"
Learn new tricks and techniques! For just $19 you can take Jennifer's Inspiration Showcase Online Class!

ReplyDeleteFor me whenever my kids let me! I usually squeeze a bit in between here & there. I've found my best times stamping though has been while everyone sleeps. Thanks for the chance!

ReplyDeleteFantastic article about Jennifer! She is one person I would love to meet. My favorite time to stamp is as soon as I get up in the morning. For whatever reason, my creative juices are going strong then, and thank goodness I'm retired and don't have to go to work, because sometimes I never get to my regular chores for the day until lunchtime!

ReplyDeleteI have signed up for Jennifer's class... SO looking forward to it!
my fave time is after dinner in the evenings as i am a bit of a night owl fab stamp set thanks for the chance of winning xx
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite time. I tend to move from one project to another, so I might stamp while waiting for a watercolor wash to dry, or for paperclay to stiffen. Or, I might just get the urge to stamp!
ReplyDeleteI love to craft LATE at night. It's so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteI admit, I love to stamp late at night, when my house is totally quiert, because everyone else isasleep or very early in the morning, just after they all left the house here, cause then it gives me peace and quiert to drown in all my stuff here, which I so love ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to craft in the mornings but will stamp at night if that is the only time I get.
ReplyDeleteWell my favourite time is first thing in the morning since i am certainly a morning person, but I actually end up doing it at night mostly due to little kids (2 kids under 4)
ReplyDeleteI love to stamp on a Friday afternoon. I finish work early and come home while i'm still fresh to craft.
ReplyDeletevery cool - only time I have time to stamp is night time ... so by default it is my favorite time.

ReplyDeleteIt is not always easy but then it is a challenge! Love the low down on Jen.
Smiles:)
Whenever I can find time is a great time for stamping!
ReplyDeleteI love to stamp during the morning to afternoon time. This is when I get the most natural light because I think colours look different at night under room lights. But of course stamping anytime really is a great joy!
ReplyDeleteI prefer to stamp in the morning. I have always been a moring person so that's when i am fresh. Too wipes out at the end of the day as well as bad lighting in my craft room.... Love that it looks like Jennifer is talking to a zebra!
ReplyDeleteI like to stamp in the morning the best, but I stamp whenever I have the time. Great post about Jennifer. Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI also do most of my stamping at night. I find that I can finally relax after a long day, and creativity seems to come more naturally at that time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the background info on Jen McGuire...she really is a talented "Sweetheart", and the artistic community is blessed to have her!
Thanks for a chance to win!
Barb G.
Woo hoo for shout outs to fabulous crafty galls. My favorite time to craft is really early in the morning when everyone is asleep and coffee in hand.

Most all of my crafting time happens at night once the house is quiet. It's my favorite time to think and get my ideas down on paper. Thanks for the chance to some of the awesome Studio Calico stamps!
ReplyDeleteI always stamp at night. After 11 o'clock, I'am over with work, chores and my family, so I relax by creating something.
ReplyDeleteI stamp when I get inspired. There are days I spend all day at my desk and late night/early mornings when I get home from work. There's no time that is right/wrong for me to stamp.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the additional info on Jennifer. I've taken a class with her and you are correct, she is a gem! :)
In the afternoon or at night. If I'm really into it, I can start in the morning and continue right up to midnight or one am. My latest craze is OSW. I'll do three sets simultaneously like an assembly line and can have 48 cards done in less than a day. Then I'm so jazzed at my progress that I start another three sets and voila, in a day and a half, I've made 96 cards.
ReplyDeleteI like to stamp when I am relaxed, and that's when all the kids have gone to school, or to bed LOL
ReplyDeleteMy favorite time to stamp is when I know I will have a block of time free and not be interrupted or feel I "should" be doing something (like making meals!) -- this usually is in the evenings or weekends. ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday!! I have to stamp at night....work takes my days away. But when I get a chance on a weekend there is nothing better than spending an entire afternoon stamping and creating.
