Sometimes I'm asked how I clean my stamps, so I thought I would share some tips for both clear and rubber stamps. This is just what I use to clean stamps.

How do you clean your stamps? Let us know by leaving a comment. I know a lot of you are experienced stampers, so I've love to hear how you clean your stamps! :)

  5. Thank you for all the tips. I use a spray stamp cleaner (I am not even sure of the brand) but I used to use baby wipes when my daughter was a baby - come to think of it, I think I prefered this method. I think I am going to buy some baby wipes next time I am in the store.

Okay, this is not the first time that your "assistant" was heard behind the scenes of the video you made. I would love to see that cat that is often so vocal during the filming, lol.

  6. I use the Ultra Clean and the Scrubber Pad all the time. That stuff is wonderful and cleans the stamps up perfectly.

  7. Boy, do I have a lot of "well loved" stamps. Methinks the chestnut roan chalk ink is well loved too. Thanks for the tips. I'm a baby wipe fan.

  8. Great to see this subject! I have been wondering about this myself lately. I clean my stamps with water, liquid washer and a soft toothbrush - that's what clear stamp manufacturer recommends ;) I have heard, that baby wipes effect the way clear stamp will accept ink next time.

Kristina, what exactly in solvent ink cleaners break down acrylic?? I wan to know.

  9. I use mainly baby wipes. But I have recently started using Staz-On ink so I do use Staz-On cleaner for that. I didn't know that breaks down the clear stamps over time. Thanks for the tip on that.

  10. I am very bad with my stamps. Although I have many great cleaners and of course baby wipes, I never ever clean my stamps!

  11. Baby wipes, I always come back to baby wipes. It would be cool if a company put the "special" stamp cleaner in a baby wipe. The ink scrubbers always get dirty super fast, I like the HA all purpose one though.

  12. I always use the babywipes for everything, and it works perfect for me, and I´ve never had any problems with any kind of ink, so it´s definitely the cheapest solution.

  13. I use water on a scrubbing pad. Good old water removes most inks. And I use the Stazon for Stazon ink. I wipe the stamp off with a wet rag to remove the Stazon cleaner.

  14. I have used Stampin Up cleaner for years but I am about out and will get some Ultra Clean next time. Thanks!

  15. I use baby wipes for everyday cleaning. I particularly like Huggies Sensitive because they don't leave any residue on the stamp surfaces and they are quite thick and sturdy. I also use Ultra Clean on my stamp scrubber, especially when using Stazon or Adirondack inks. I find that Ultra Clean will also clean up stained stamps. I often finish up afterward by wiping the stamp surface with a baby wipe.

  16. Thanks for this very useful video.

Any chance you could do a video on how to condition new stamps before using them?

Love your blog, cards & videos! ;-)

  17. Great video Kristina, now I know what to buy to remove the Stazon inks from my acrylic stamps, yay!!!

  18. I use the Close to My Heart stamp cleaner. Looks like the majority uses baby wipes, though. I might have to buy a package and give them a test run.

  19. I use baby wipes as well but most of the time I just take a sheet of printer paper and keep pressing my stamps on it till there is no print left.

  20. I use stamp cleaner on all the stamps but for the buffer pads I use paint pads from Walmart, super cheap, two in a package and they are white which doesn't last long but they are washable in the sink, let them dry and I use them over and over for years. Paint replacement pads in the paint section at walmart. Two for about 3.99 hope that helps.

  21. I'm pretty low maintenance with cleaning my stamps. I simply go to the kitchen sink after I've used a stamp, rinse it off, rub a little liquid dishsoap on them and rinse that off, pat it dry. It takes all of 10 seconds and my stamps always look brand new.

  22. I just use baby wipes but the dye ink still stay on my clear stamps which sometimes annoys me. There are times when I really wanted to invest some cleaners but after thinking a few rounds, I rather spend that money for more stamp sets!

  24. Darn! I wish the products were listed or the names were under the images or maybe if they were bigger... it would be nice to print off the list so the next time I'm trying to decide what to try I'd have that handy, but the images are too small. ;-(

  25. I stamp off any excess ink and clean with nothing but water and an occasional little bit of liquid soap.

  26. I'm a new stamper and scrapbooker. What I do is just usually take paper towel and damp wet it with water. Put it in a little bowl. I also have my little mini minster spray fill with water. I either use that or my damp paper towel to clean my stamps off. Then just use a dry paper towel. To dry them off.
