Simon Says Stamp Junior Stamper Kit

As a mom and a stamper, there is something that is very endearing to my heart ..... crafting with my almost 5 year old son. He is a huge fan of my Sizzix Big Shot and an even "huger" fan (in his words) of the Vagabond by Tim Holtz! He loves to color, but most of all he loves to cut and tape and glue! He enjoys (mostly) free reign of my craft supplies, but I do find it would be nice if he had something to call his very own.  We can craft side by side.

That's where the idea of our "Junior Stamping Kit" originated. To celebrate back to school and Simon's annual STAMPtember extravaganza we are making the "Junior Stamping Kit" available in our store while supplies last.

In celebration of crafting with our kids, we have developed this "Junior Stamper" kit targeted for ages 4 through 14. The kit includes whole assortment of products from stamps, ink, neon papers, coloring pages, twistable crayons, markers, window markers, to stickers, construction paper, glue stick, washi tape, and scissors (safe for 4+). There is a huge list of supplies and many of them reusable for a long time to come. It's important to celebrate our children and so the kit is complete with a "Junior Stamper" Certificate of achievement.

You can purchase yours here while supplies last.  This kit is loaded with fun AND value!  The retail value of this kit is almost double what we are actually charging.

Stay tuned for August 23.  We have a very special event planned with a group of our stamping friends and their kiddos!  Below is a picture of my son Jax with Tim Holtz. The picture was taken last weekend at Stampaway in Cincinnati.  Can I just tell you how cool it is to share a passion for stamping with my son?  He is just as excited about it as I am. (And that is REALLY excited!)  It's totally awesome!

*This is a special edition Kit and not part of our regular Card Kit Club Program

Thank you with all my heart for allowing me to share this passion with you!  The best parts of my day are when you share your passion with us!  Comment below and tell us if you know any kids that love to craft.  Do you craft with them?  We'd love to hear from you!  Several lucky commenters will receive a Junior Stamping Kit as a gift :)  Winner announced Friday 8/10.

In stamping fun,
Heidi

  1. What a wonderful idea! While I don't have any kids, I do have a brown Boston Terrier and was wondering if you have any plans to make those adorable drawings of Simon into stamps? He's so cute, and I would love to have a stamp that looks just like my pup Hazel. :)

  3. This kit looks wonderful! I definitely have a junior stamper/crafter, which I love, although I'm not always good at sharing my stuff with her. I sometimes do card workshops and I always save a set to do with her. She knows she has access to my scraps and even does fussy cutting. Thanks for the chance to win!

  5. This kit is perfect for the kids! My girl loves to make cards but she is only 3 years old. So most of the time she like to punch flowers and glue them or paste the stickers. And I usually help when she needs it ;)

  10. Hey Heidi,
I too LOVE that I can stamp and craft away with my kiddos!
We are a homeschooling family, our favorite class time is what I call, ART THERAPY...We could spend HOURS playing in the schoolroom:) which serves also as our stamp/craft room.
The kiddos are having a great time showcasing their work in the BACK TO SCHOOL CHALLENGE!

  13. My children are grown now (22 & 20) but we used to do a lot of crafting together when they were younger. My daughter is still a crafter, but doesn't do as much as she used to, I'm sure she will get back to it one day. I do have a few great nieces that love crafting. I love to buy them supplies for Christmas and birthdays, things they wouldn't usually have. Your kits look wonderful! What a great idea!

  24. I craft with my 7 year old niece Hana - she uses my craft stuff (under supervision!) and just LOVES it - her and her best friend idolise my cards and my 'talent' as they call it hehe, when they grow up they want to open a card shop lol. She loves colouring in with my 'grownup markers' as she calls my Promarkers! I did a crafting session for her 7th birthday and herself and all her friends got stuck right in making cards, it was a fun and productive way to keep a bunch of rowdy children occupied for a couple of hours, considering here in Ireland, it rains pretty much constantly :P

  26. My nephew Rylind would love something like this. One day he was in his room and he was tracing a shark from a book and I realized that he was the artistic one. So this past Christmas I gave him this giant tracing/coloring book and it was his favorite gift. Needless to say that made me smile.

  27. Hi Heidi, thanks for sharing the kit and the pic of your son with Tim Holtz! Amazing! I have 4 kids and three of them LOVE to stamp and craft with me! The oldest (13-year-old boy) has never been into art but the other three LOVE stamping, Cuttlebugging, glittering, die cutting, Stickling, decorative sicissoring, coloring, painting...even playing with polymer clay! I, like you, am SO happy to see my kids enjoy the same hobby that brings me so much joy. My stamps might be a bit messier around the edges after they play, but it makes me smile the next time I reach for that stamp!

  41. This is such a fabulous kit for kids. My daughter loves to craft. It is great mother, daughter time and something we enjoy doing together. It is memories that will last a lifetime. Hannah is 12 and I just hope that as she moves into her teenage years that passion stays with her.
Your son is adorable and what a lucky little guy to have already met Tim. :o)

  42. This is such a thoughtful and fabulous idea. I have 2 young kids, my eldest is almost 5 and has been diagnosed as Autistic. We have had our work cut out for us trying to get him to draw and cut with scissors to develop the muscles needed for writing when he starts school and in the last few months we have seen some great success. I love making cards with him as the motivation of giving his work to someone he loves, like his grandmother or cousins, really helps. When we give the card he then gets more encouragement and support for his efforts from the recipient. My daughter is turning 3 this month and is startingt o get in on the drawing, cutting and glueing action too. I love to share my passion with my kids, just like you, and while it sometimes means chopped scrapbooking layouts, smooshed tombow markers, or other disasters, it is worth working through that to be able to share something so special with them.

  58. This is such an awesome idea and I´m just sorry, you didn´t post it just 1 day earlier. I have 8 grandkids,7 girls and 1 boy aged 4 to 16, who all just loves to craft and we use to make a craftweek here all together every summerholiday, and then again in the week of the fallholiday all together, and they all just left here last night, as they´re going back to school again on monday. But they´ll definitely love this,I´m sure. Ofcause the older ones wants to use the adult stuff, but I´m sure the 4 smaller kids would be on the moon with this, and maybe then then could keep on at home too, and not always have to wait to get to gran´s house to play, because the mum´s just hate to craft LOL. We have a bunch of really awesome pics from all the gatherings here over the years, that´s for sure. I´ve started to make a scrapbook for each of them, which I expect to give them as they get wed , so they can follow their crafting life at gran´s house over the years. And it´s soo fun to see, how even the oldest one at 16 still set everything aside to be here that one week, each time, even it can be long between we see her else, when they´re busy with school and friends, but that week is sacret to all of them, that´s for sure, and the older ones even more and more often bring some of their friends too now, who don´t have a place to craft, because they obviously also tells their friends about our weeks here every year.
I could make a whole book with tons of funny pictures and stories about our craftweeks here together over the years ha ha ha. And they love to see all these pics too and also to see, what they made themself year after year and see how they´re improving in skills and creativity too, and I too find that really amazing, to see how they gets better and better over the years. We got soo many here, that hubby last year made me a huge craftroom, where we can all be together now, so we don´t have to spread it all over the house anymore. Maybe he got a bit tired of having craftstuff everywhere. Not sure, but I sure love that new huge room, I can now play in every day here, that´s a big dream come true, that´s for sure.
It is such an amazing feeling and give a fantastic bonding with the kids, which is rare these days, so I can only recommend everyone to do this, if they have the possibility for it, that´s for sure, and if anyone would like to see pics or hear more about how we´ve done this, just let me know, I´ll be more than happy to share it then.

  64. Great take on the Junior Stamper Kit! I have a 5 years and a half years old daughter who always around when I start to stamp. She would asks, "Mummy, are you playing with paper again?". That means I have to stamp something into her drawing book so that she can colors (she sometimes ask me to cut out and make a card). There is one time, I used Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea to make a sea scene in her drawing book. I asked her to color and later make her name the sea animals by writing them on the drawing book! How awesome to know that Simon Says Stamp have this Junior Stamper Kit!

  67. I'm late to the party, but wanted to say what a terrific idea this is for a child's gift. I do "arfts and crafts" with my 4-year old niece. She even has a special artist t-shirt she wears (one of mine that covers her up almost completely). We have her supplies in a separate plastic file container which is now overflowing with supplies and paper. She loves it all. What a great joy for your son to meet Tim! Isn't that every crafter's dream?

  73. My two daughters used to go to one-day crops with me, where they both worked on their own scrapbooks of themselves, in addition to the scrapbooks I have going for them and all the other family members. It's so very fun to look back at their own scrapbooks and read their own journaling! Sadly, now that they are teenagers and above (21 & 15 yrs) they have moved on to other things in their lives.

I dream of the days a few years from now when they *hopefully* come back to crafting with their mom! And at least the 21 year old is one of my biggest fans (I'm also a cardmaker) and always uses my own creations when she is sending off a card! She prefers them to Hallmark!
