Lorraine Aquilina & House Mouse Stamps!

Hi bloggers! Oh my goodness! I can barely believe it as I type it, but STAMPtember™ is already half way through! Wow! I loved reading on Facebook the other day that one of your favorite things about this month has been the blogs! Wow, we just love hearing that, and we also feel very blessed to be surrounded by such talented designers & in general GREAT people in the industry!

Speaking of great people... meet Lorraine Aquilina! Or, as we all lovingly call her, Lols. :)  Not only is she an extremely talented crafter, but she has a HEART OF GOLD! I'm very fortunate to work with Lols often, and even though we only get to literally see each other about once a year (she lives an ocean apart from me, in Malta!), I think of her as a dear friend.  She's a busy wife, mum of 2, & 'foster' mum to her beloved dog Jessie, and her heart melts to many kitties that are fortunate to come to her door step!  Not coincidentally, her love of animals runs into the stamp lines as well, and she loves House Mouse stamps so we thought she would be the perfect candidate to show you how to color these adorable mice perfectly!

Lols graciously provided a picture by picture demo of how you can get the perfect shading, & it sure is lovely! Lols, will explain her process as she goes:

I add a base color to the image, I use E000 on the skin areas and E30 on the fur

I then add shading to the skin with E00 and R20 and add E31 to shade the fur.

I then build up the color with some E33 on the darker shaded areas of fur.
The apple is colored with R22 and G20 as base colors.

I then add R24, R27 and R29 to deepen and shade and G21 and G24

Now for the finished products :-)

For the card I used papers and sentiment from the August Card Kit

I made this scrapbook style recipe book so that favorite recipes can be cut out of magazines or printed from the internet and glued inside :-)

Now... you don't want to forget to stop by Lorraine's blog HERE to get an extra special discount off House Mouse stamps..for a limited time only!

There was also a stamp I hadn't ordered yet because it was a bit spendy, but now it's mine with that discount :)
