A Fun Exclusive with Jess Larsen!

Hi Bloggers! Happy Friday! I'm really excited to share a special exclusive card made just for us and our blog readers! The beautiful card made below was made by Jess Larsen! She even made a video to take you on a step by step guide of how to recreate it yourself! How cool is that?!

Here's some more information on the creative process from the artist herself:
This card was super simple, but tons of fun to make. I love the gradient/ombré look that is so popular right now and thought it would be fun to recreate it with an awesome background stamp from Hero Arts.  I used the Hexagon Background, but this would look great with a chevron background as well! To get a seamless look between colors, I experimented with several different inks until I found three that blended perfectly.  In this case, I wanted a teal-ish color palate, so I used Hero Arts Soft Pool Shadow Ink, Hero Arts Tide Pool Mid-Tone Shadow Ink and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Evergreen Bough. Then I carefully inked the stamp, being sure to start with the lightest ink and work to the darkest.

I wanted the background stamp to be the focal point of this card, so I kept everything else pretty simple. I picked a birthday message from the new Hero Arts Set "It's Your Day" and stamped that on the large banner die from Simon Says Stamp. I forgot how awesome that banner die is!  It sets your sentiment apart and works perfectly with nearly any style of card.  Because I am going to be mailing this card, I used adhesive to make the banner nearly one dimensional. Then, I finished off the card with some pearls and gems!  For all the details, you can check out the quick video I shot of the process.  I highlight one of my favorite tools that is currently available in the Simon Says Stamp store!

Check out this fantastic step by step video so you can make your own version of this card:

Thanks for reading today and thanks so much to Jess for this fabulous exclusive!
