Hi folks!  How are you doing this fine Saturday!?   Nope, I am not going to have another baby.  Simon our Boston Terrier is not having a doggy wedding....but I have been busting at the seams to make a different happy announcement! ........

 

We didn't know how to do it, or when to do it, so I'm just going to shout from the mountain tops:  WE ARE SO HAPPY TO WELCOME KELLY PURKEY INTO OUR SIMON FAMILY!

Not only is Kelly an accomplished teacher and published author, but she is a talented product designer with her own hipster style.  I've been a fan of Kelly's work for a long time and have had the opportunity to get to know her better over the last year.  You've seen Kelly collaborate with Simon on wood mount handle stamps, clear photopolymer stamps, and now.......... there is MORE to come.....just you wait and see!!!  Man, I'm terrible at keeping a secret!  I promised I would keep the secret until lucky St. Patrick's Day, March 17.

Want to get to know Kelly a little better? 

Obsessed with paper since she was very little, it was only natural that Kelly Purkey ended up with a career in paper crafting.  She has worked in the industry for over seven years, working as a product designer and wearing other various hats for American Crafts and Studio Calico.  During her time there she helped create and design some of their best selling products.  In the summer of 2012, she set out on her own and launched the Kelly Purkey brand.  Starting with wood handled stamps and moving into a variety of kits, Kelly aimed to provide products to scrapbookers and cardmakers that were on top of trends, full of bright colors, and relevant to women everywhere while maintaining top notch designs.

Kelly lived in New York City for the past four years and has recently returned to her Midwest roots in Chicago.  She loves to travel and is often on the road more than she is at home.  One of Kelly's other passions in life is food and she enjoys dining out as much as she can - and documenting it as she goes!  She loves to indulge in endless cups of coffee, multiple trips into any photobooth she comes across, and days spent in the sun on Miami Beach.

Kelly has been documenting her life and  travels on her blog:  KellyPurkey.com.  I hope you'll stop by there and pay her a visit.  We are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Kelly because that means GREAT THINGS are in store for our Simon customers!!
