Hi Friend Card (custom die-cutting with partial die-cut)
Hi all! Kristina here. :)
A couple weeks ago I shared a Quick Tip on Youtube about partial die-cutting and mentioned that I would be using the technique on an upcoming card. Today's card is that card! :)
I wanted to make the Life Bubble Horizontal 2 die shorter. Here's what the original looks like...
So by partially die-cutting it, I was able to make it shorter to fit the "FRIEND" embossing from the Plain Jane stamp set. Be sure to watch the video below to see how it was done.
For the "Hi" part of the greeting, I used our Music 2 My Ears stamp set, which was originally included in the November 2012 Card Kit. The stamp set is available on it's own, or you can get it in the kit! :)
Anyhow, enjoy!

ReplyDeleteOh Kristina, I just love when you show these things. More bang for my buck is the very first thought! Plus, I can really stretch my imagination when I can shrink or enlargen my die cuts! AND, happy to say I am one of your happy kit customers! SSS rocks, especially with YOU putting together and making up most of those stamp sets. I just hope everyone knows that Kristina's stamps, and handwriting, see? LOL Okay, well I also thank you for the Versafine Ink tip, cuz, I had one heck of a time of it, when trying to stamp that image with other inkpads. Versafine is a miracle to behold, on those types of stamps. Thanks for another wonderful card, and for the fabulous kits, and for sharing all the tips and tricks. Hey YOU ROCK, too! LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat video!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this video. I had not idea you could do that with dies.
ReplyDeleteNice card and thx for the video showing this technique. I haven't done that for a loooong time. It is a great way to get more use out of your dies, that's for sure. :)
