A Valentine Treat From Lawn Fawn!

Hi bloggers! Happy Monday! I'm pleased to bring you a sweet project from Lawn Fawn's own Kelly Alvarez! I loved Kelly's naming of this project as 'pencil decor'! It's a great teacher gift or fun for friends and co-workers! I will let the expert tell you all about how to make these cute little crafts yourself!

I thought it would be fun to create some cute pencil favors for Valentine's Day! This is a cute gift idea for kids' classrooms or even as a kitschy present for friends or coworkers.This idea would work well for lollipops, too.

I started with a 1" x 1.5" piece of card stock. I cut two 5/8" slits with a craft knife close to the edge (as shown in the photo below). A pencil will slip easily through the two cuts. You can always alter the size of the slit depending on what you are decorating.

I then cut some red scalloped circles and white circles with my Silhouette. It is a great machine for doing mass production like this! I decorated the circles with Bee Mine and Here's the Scoop, Lawn Fawn's new Valentine's Day sets. I did some simple Copic coloring so it would be easy to make a lot of them. To get the perfect pink ink for my bee trail and hearts, I stamped off my red ink on to scratch paper and then stamped with the ink that was left on the stamp on my project. This gives the perfect coordinating pink to a red ink. I love that!

I placed adhesive in the middle of that first piece I cut (as shown in the photo) and adhered my circles. A totally cute and fun idea that could work for any holiday!

Love Banner Card

Happy Tuesday, all! Kristina here.

Today I have a Valentine's Day card using Hero Arts' Newspaper background stamp and two new stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp called Lots of Hearts and Just a Love Note.

I used two different colors of red ink for the hearts: Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Raspberry Jam and Red Royal. In the photo they look super close in color, but in real life it's easier to see the difference between the colors. It's a fun monochromatic look!

We HEART Doodlebug!

Hi Bloggers! I hope 2013 is treating you well so far! As Kristina so poignantly put it on yesterday's blog, it is on to the next holiday! I couldn't help but smile when we received these brand new Doodlebug goodies in our store recently! They're bright, cheery, and perfect for the LOVELY holiday they were meant for! Below are two fantastic examples from the creative geniuses over at the Doodlebug blog! Be sure to check this blog out for even MORE inspiration!

I love the pretty zig zag stitching around this card! The cupcake is adorable, but I also think the new Valentines Doodle-pops would be adorable too! Do you want a perfect scalloped edge like this one? This die is one of my favorite scallops!

Will You Be Our Valentine?

Hi Bloggers! Happy Saturday to you! As we brace for some more winter weather in Columbus, Ohio, we begin thinking about that LOVELY holiday to come in the second month of the new year! Yes, that's right, I'm talking about Valentine's Day! Here at Simon Says Stamp, we are celebrating with lots of beautiful new releases from our exclusive line!

Love You Valentine's Day Card

Morning, all! Kristina here. :)

Today I have a small 3x3 Valentine's Day card for you all. I used one of my favorite love-themed paper pads, My Mind's Eye's Love Me 6x6 pad. I just love the papers in this collection! Perfect for Valentine's Day. :)

I also used the Imaginisce I-Bond Cordless Glue Gun. What I love about the I-Bond--besides the cordless part--is that they have glitter glue sticks. Most of the time you want to hide where the glue is, but when it's glitter you can use it as a accent! :)
