3 Types of Embellishments
2 Patterned papers (and a plain colour for layering if you like)
1 Image

The answer: a gorgeous card!! Play along in our Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week! The perks:
-You get compliments on your work from people who see it & like it
-You don't have to be a professional artist to join
-You will help inspire others
-Blog Candy opportunities!
-Crafting is FUN and this gives you a great excuse to play
-You are automatically entered into the drawing for a $25.00 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp!!!

Chris used an image from The Greeting Farm. The pretty blue flower is by Hero Arts and is called Sea Print. The pink flower is from the Pink Bubbles collection by Prima.

Lols used a Stampendous stamp called Changito Grad. The Manila papers she used are by Basic Grey and she distressed the edges using Vintage Photo by Tim Holtz (a tip: use the Ink Blending Tool for easy inking!).

Christine used the Holiday Cheer stamp set by Hero Arts (it's where the snowflakes and house came from). She flocked the house, possibly with Polar White flock by Flower Soft. For the scalloped center circle, she used the Scalloped Circle Large die by Spellbinders.

Heather used a Whiff of Joy stamp called Lizzie with Muff. She used a little bit of Diamond Dust for the snowy parts and the gorgeous pink papers are from Tim Holtz's paper pack, Vintage Shabby.

Marcea used a Whiff of Joy stamp called Melinda with Bouquet. If you want polka dot ribbon, try Polka Dots by Jillibean Soup. I like the brown pearls she used too! They look like Chocolate pearls by Kaiser.

Domi used a Penny Black stamp called Back-Seat Witch. The papers she used remind me of Graphic 45's pack called Halloween in Wonderland. Want a spider brad? Try Spiders by Eyelet Outlet!

Debby used a cute Lili of the Valley stamp called Oh So Girlie. The pretty papers are by Echo Park (one of our newer brands, thanks to Steph!). They're from the pack called A Walk in the Park.

Jane used the Wish Granted Tilda stamp and the Pink Starlit paper by Magnolia. The pearls are likely by Hero Arts and called Medium Accent Pearls.

Jo used gorgeous flowers from Prima called Holiday Poinsettia. I'm excited to announce that she used new Basic Grey papers called Jovial (I am Basic Grey paper-obsessed)!

Jay Jay made that funny little spider by adding googly eyes (like those by LYB) to a pom pom. Want to make Halloweenie flowers? Try Halloween by Prima! I like the gems she used too - they're a lot like Hero Arts' Black Metallic embellishments.

Mandy used the Sneaky Tilda stamp by Magnolia. She also used Magnolia papers from the A Little Yummy in Tummy Paper Pack. Like those roses? Try Love Letter Roses in Rose Quartz.

Mandy is the newest addition to our Simon Says Stamp Design Team - welcome! Honor her by entering the Simon Says Stamp Challenge!! We'd love to see your concoctions! Take a peek at the Vintage Challenge too!
Want a chance to win BLOG CANDY too? I bet you do!! All you have to do is tell me your favorite Halloween Costume of all time and you could be the lucky winner of Large Web by Hero Arts! Yippee!!

Happy Cookin!

Need watercolor paper? Try the new Hero Arts Watercolor Papers in either White or Cream!

Silky Stamping Sponge
This sponge will help you wet the paper or dry brushes!
I took a bunch of watercolor classes growing up and I've seen a lot of different products and paints, but I love that the Hero Arts Watercolor Paint Wheels contain 24 colors in such a small container - no need to worry about cluttering your studio here! If you need opaque colors, this is the way to go.

A few final tips for easier watercoloring:
1. Wet the paper where you want to color if you want a soft, blurry look (make sure to let this dry before beginning with another image - otherwise colors will bleed)
2. Do light colors first and dark colors last! (and make sure paper is dry if you want a clear, dark image - this is known as dry-brushing)
3. If you want a clear image, use less water on your brush and let your paper dry so colors won't bleed
4. If you make a mistake, wet the area and dab with a paper towel until color is removed

Craft Away!!

WE LIKE TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT!

This week's Simon Says Challenge theme is Movement! Therefore, all cards entered must have a movable part or something to do with movement. Below are the creations by our beloved Design Team! Thanks for visiting, and if you'd like to enter the Challenge, please check out the instructions on the left side of the Challenge Blog. We'd love for you to share your work! : )

Designed by Debby
Debby used the Skateboarding Snoopy stamp. I really like the pinwheels too! Check out the Bold Pinwheel stamp by Hero Arts if you like them too!

Designed by Jo
Jo used the Mermaid Emma stamp by C.C. Designs. I like her tiara/headband of diamonds too (see Medium Diamond Gems for a similar option). The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Clear stamp set called Oceans of Joy.

Designed by Chris
Chris, I love that you have confetti in your card!! Very cool. I also like the bright yellow paper - it reminds me of Summer Sun Cardstock by Stampin Up. The stamp that she used is called Looking at You and is by Penny Black.

Designed by Lols
Lorraine used the Changito Driving stamp by Stampendous. I love that she added "passed" as the license plate - what a fun idea!! She also used the Arch Lattice edge punch by Martha Stewart. Like those papers? They're from a newer line by Basic Grey called Oliver!

Designed by Christine

Christine's card cool because it turns! One minute there's a cat in the window and then a giant spider! The cute characters are from a Hero Arts Clear stamp set called Frightful. If you want to use a brad like she did for a doorknob, you're in luck! We have metal brads by Doodlebug, Tim Holtz, and Hero Arts just waiting for you to buy them!

Designed by Domi
Domi used the Honey on the Run stamp by Gruffies. Try Obsession Brown flowers by Prima for brown flowers - they're embossed too! Need buttons? Buy Summer Buttons by Autumn Leaves!

Designed by Marcea
Marcea used Diamond Dust for the glittery snow - a great effect! The snowflakes were made using Create a Flake by Spellbinders. And the image was masterfully colored using Copic Markers.

Designed by Heather
Heather used new Magnolia stamps! The truck is from Tilda & Edwin Tours, and there is Jungle Edwin, and Break & Feather leaves!

Jane used the Vintage Shabby paper pad by Tim Holtz, along with Walnut Stain ink to distress it (lookin' good!!). The image is Charlotte Riding on Pigeon by Whiff of Joy.
