Snow Much Joy

Hello, all! Kristina here.

Today I have a card using only one stamp set: Snow Much Joy from Hero Arts. I love when I'm able to create a card using only one stamp set. :)

For the background, I used Bazzill's Whirlypop cardstock (a dark navy) and stamped the snowflakes in Colorbox Frost White Pigment Ink. The snowman was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored in with Copic Markers. For the specific colors of markers, be sure to watch the video.

Hero Arts Inspiration from Lisa Spangler!

Hi bloggers! Happy Wednesday to you all! Today, I'm thrilled to bring to you TWO amazing cards made by crafter extraordinaire (and dear sweet friend of Simon), Lisa Spangler! Lisa whipped up these 2 beauties by inking up some brand NEW Hero Arts stamps from the 2013 collection! Let's take a look!

 

I love how it looks like the owls are 'snuggling'.  :)  For a brief tutorial from Lisa on how to make this card and the ingredients, see below the full shot of the card!

Ink woodgrain with tea dye and vintage photo, mist and stamp. For the owls, color on the rubber with distress markers then mist and stamp. The heart is stamped twice -- once in white pigment ink directly on the card and embossed in white, then again in worn lipstick and cut out -- really makes it pop!!! The eyes have black enamel accents and then after it dries put a dot of white! I learned that from Kathy Racoosin! Love her! (We do, too!!!)

Stamp the dots in worn lipstick on mandarin notecard. Ink flower with distress markers, mist, and stamp on white cardstock and round corners. Layer to punch and round corners. Adhere to notecard. Stamp flower again and cut out, then ink the edges with worn lipstick with a foam ink applicator tool. Adhere to card with a foam dot.

You're Very Special

Hi, all! Kristina here with another card and video featuring products from the January 2013 Card Kit. :)

Today's card is nearly a one-layer card since it's pretty flat. I love creating cards like this because they are so easy to mail. No extra postage needed. :)

The sentiment comes from the Very Special stamp set that's included in the January Card Kit. I embossed it over a blended background made with Distress Inks. If you've never tried embossing over Distress Inks, you'll need to make sure the Distress Ink is SUPER dry. Like bone dry. Distress Inks stay wet a bit longer than other dye-based ink, so you'll want to be cautious with them when it comes to embossing over the top.

In my case, I used a combination of a heat tool and the EK Success Powder Tool to really draw out all the moisture of the ink. In the end, it worked pretty well!

A Special TREAT from Lawn Fawn!

Hi Bloggers!! Happy Monday to you! I'm pleased to bring you another exclusive from Kelly Alvarez and the fantastically kind and talented team at Lawn Fawn! I squealed when I saw these adorable treat boxes, and I just love how Kelly is always thinking about making projects for multiple holidays and occasions!

Here's an excerpt from Kelly on how she made these adorable treat boxes:

These little treat boxes are so much fun! I love that they can work for any occasion by just changing up the paper and stamped image on the top! 

I used the Martha Stewart scoring board, along with the included instructions, to create these mini boxes. I punched the sides of the top of the box with a decorative punch to add a little pizazz.

I then stamped the hearts from Belinda's Borders and the long snowflake border from Frosties, cut them out and wrapped them around the tops. Then I stamped the milkshake from Here's the Scoop and Winter Owl, colored them in, cut them out, and adhered them to the tops with foam adhesive.

It's all in the styling... they're cute from ANY angle! :)
