Steampunk Valentines!

Hello! I'm so excited to share with you today fun twists on traditional Valentine's cards! Can you believe it's almost Valentine's Day? Here in America, Valentine's Day is a big day and we send out as many Valentine's cards as we can possibly do! Valentine's are for all the special people in your life; a special neighbor, your best friend, your family, and everyone you love!  I remember when I was younger it was so exciting to count up the Valentine's my friends would sneak in my locker or on my desk at school!

Isn't this combination of Inkadinkado stamps and Jolee's Stickers just perfection?!

Here are simple directions to make one of your own:
1. For each Valentine, fold a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of black cardstock in half to create a side-folding card. Cut a piece of white cardstock to 2 7/8" x 4 3/8" and mount to the center of the card’s front panel. Set aside.

2. Cut white cardstock to 2 3/4" x 4 1/4". Stamp the Cogs image with black ink as desired on the panel, choosing the density of the ink color by either stamping directly after inking or stamping first on scrap paper then onto the cardstock for a softer, more faded image. You can stamp the image multiple times to fill the space, perhaps making your images different densities. Colorize the full panel with your choice of one or more dye inks using a piece of sponge as an applicator. Adhere this panel to the center of your card.

3. Stamp the Clock with Wings image once or twice, depending on which card you are making. Fussy-cut the wings and colorize with dye inks, adding glitter glue to the edges. Adhere the wings to the back of the heart sticker you will be using. If layering two sets of wings, offset them slightly. Attach the wings and sticker to the card with 3D-Dots.

4. Add further embellishments such as the pearls and gear stickers.

Of course we have to give a shout out to our Steampunk Design King- Tim Holtz! Check out this Steampunk theme tag he did during the 12 Tags of Christmas, we are still in love!

Inkadinkado Home Decor!

Hello friends! I can't believe it's the last week of the year! WOW this year flew by! I hope you were able to accomplish everything you wanted to in 2011... and if not... well you still have 6 days! ;)

Today I'm going to showcase a really beautiful way to display your favorite Inkadinkado stamps from the EK Success Inkadinkado website! Your stamps don't have to stop on paper... they translate beautifully onto fabrics for home decor! You could even stamp the patterns onto canvas!

With just a simple white pillow, you could add an Inkadinkado floral stamp and create a soft, beautiful centerpiece to a room! A tip is to add a thick piece of cardboard inside the pillowcase while your stamp with the paint- this way there's a firm and flat surface to press onto.
Try this Inkadinkado Fern Cling Stamp for a similar effect!

Now this is a stylish lampshade! To get this look, just measure the full length of your lampshade (height and width) and cut a piece of fabric to match it. Apply the stamp and paint, and then use a spray adhesive to attach it to your shade once it's dried!

This Inkadinkado Ornamental Tile Cling Stamp set looks great on the sample shade above doesn't it?!

I love this industrial look!
Use the Inkadinkado Gears Kit Cling Stamps for this look to get the grunge, retro look!
