Hero Arts Color Layering

The fabulous, creative, and genius Jennifer Mcguire (who just celebrated a birthday) made these fabulous cards!

These would make a great teacher gift, thank you gift, wedding gift, or just keep for a stash for yourself to send off as needed!

Instructions: (ALL of the supplies needed are sold at Simon Says Stamp Superstore!)
  1. Cut piece of glossy paper to fit on folded card.
  2. Stamp image with VersaMark ink and let dry. You can use your heat gun to speed this process if needed.
  3. Apply chalk ink to the glossy paper using applicator and wipe away excess. Repeat if needed.
  4. Cut layering paper as shown and punch bottom edge with a scallop punch .
  5. Mat glossy paper on layering paper.
  6. Stamp greeting on layering paper using chalk ink. If using white, emboss with white embossing powder.
  7. Attach stamped piece to the folded card.
  8. Punch all four corners of the card.
  9. Embellish with twine, ribbon, colored gems and buttons.
Spread the love! We read comments every single day and would LOVE to hear from you! What do you think of the cards above? What phrase would you add to the cards? I never seem to have enough "Thank you" cards and would make LOTS of those ;) We will give away a Hero Arts Stamp from the NEWLY released Summer 2010 catalog for every 10 commenters below.

Luv,
Heidi

These are adorable, love the use of the different colours. I think I would leave the message open with "Just a note to say" then you could add the actual message inside the card i.e. thank you, get well soon, etc.

Gorgeous cards. Love the bright colours. You can never mave to many of them. A sentiment like "enjoy your day" or "just me saying hello" could be fine.

I have always like the "Just wanted to say..." sentiment. That leaves it open for whatever you want to put inside. I love Jennifer's work and these cards are beautiful!

I love those cards...she is so talented! I think they would work with any sentiment at all...thanks for all the inspiration!

How simple, yet so different. The various colours make the cards look so different from each other eventhough it's the same stamp used on each and every one!
I would use a phrase like "Just for You" You could then really use the card for a lot of occassions: birthday, thank you, saying hello, etc.

  4. They're great cards, I love cards that look like they can be made in an assembly line process. I normally pick neutral sentiments like "thinking of you," "just because," or "a quick note." If I make a big batch, I'll leave a few blank so I can stamp what I need when needed. :-)

  5. Always love Jennifer's cards and these ones are no exception! :) Love the bright colors and her wonderful way with design. I'd probably add some Happy Birthday messages as I make birthday cards for the members of our church on behalf of the church.

  6. I always need "Thank you" cards and try to make them whenever possible. It's much easier to make a batch at a time, then one by one as needed (they go out late if I make one by one)

  7. Thinking of YOU! Those are versatile for any occasion!

  47. Hmm… I know this sounds weird, because the colors on the card are so bright and cheerful looking, but the design looks like it would make an elegant “With Sympathy” card, if the colors with muted a tad bit.

  53. thanks for the giveaway! i like jennifer’s idea of a thinking of you message

    ReplyDelete
  54. These cards are adorable! I especially like the brown one in the back; I find that it’s better to have a darker color as the base to make the white pop more. I would probably make a whole bunch of these cards and keep them until an occasion comes up, and add a message like “Just for you”, or “Thank you” or “Congrats”.
