Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Ink (Video)

Hello, all! Kristina here! This is my first post and video for Simon Says Stamp, and I'm happy to show you a card featuring the brand new Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Inks. These are limited quantity in the Simon Says Stamp store, so be sure to pick them up while you can. :)

I had a lot of fun playing with the inks for this video! This was one of my very first experiences with Distress Inks, so I'm proof that anyone can use them! You can get awesome artistic looks using these inks. Just be prepared for inky fingers. ;)

I also wanted to note that I did not use a Ranger Craft Sheet. A lot of artists use a Craft Sheet because it makes clean up easier and it helps to pull in the ink from the edges (like I did around the edges of the music patterned paper here). Instead of a Craft Sheet, I used a page protector from a scrapbook. Really all you need is a slick surface. It also comes in handy when you're doing the technique with water I show at the beginning of the video.

Anyhow, enjoy! If you have any questions about the inks, please leave a comment. I'll try to answer, and if I don't know the answer I'll track down someone who does. :)

Enjoy!

  17. I just got these inks yesterday-yay! thanks for some awesome techniques to try! FYI-using a flat plastic bag or old packaging also can work as a craft sheet, and you can just throw them away when you are done. :)

  19. Great tutorial. I love the background of the card. I thought it was stamped and I was really surprised to see in the video that it is actually a paper with that design on it.
