DIY Folded Boxes + Decorations

"Brown paper packages tied up with string. These are a few of my favorite things!"

Hi, all! Kristina here with another holiday idea.

For today's video I created folded boxes out of lunch bags. These would be perfect for little holiday treats for friends and neighbors, or even a small piece of jewelry (hint, hint Santa!). And edge punches are a great way to dress them up, but of course you could go simple and use only string, baker's twine, or ribbon.

Anyhow, enjoy! The video below walks you through the creation and decoration of the boxes.

To Bunnyfreak, you can say the box must be about 3x3", as she measured the width of the lid to be 3" right?
    Have a great day everyone.

  12. Oh I love these-and such a great tutorial.Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  13. PS: I've made many of these over the years. Here's a couple of ideas I've used:

    1) use old calendars to make the boxes. I ask friends for their calendars at the end of the year. The calendar is usually something they like (cats, dogs, inspirational sayings or pictures, etc.). They really enjoy seeing their favorite calendar take on a second life. A set of "nesting boxes" made out of their calendar is a special treat.

    2) insert a chip board liner (you can cover it with dp) that fits around the inside perimeter of the box and is wider than the box is deep. This allows the top to not fit completely down over the bottom of the box, thereby allowing more room for whatever you put inside.

    Love those punches!!

  14. Thanks for the box tutorial. I've got the day off, so I may try this out. ALWAYS love Kristina's videos!
