It’s Monday, my name is May, and I’m back with
another favorite new line – Pink Paislee’s London Market. Full of
beautiful papers and stunning die cuts, buttons, and more – the
surprising thing about this line is how well it blends with other lines
and colors. Of course it’s stunning on its own as well, and today I’m
going to be sharing a card (with step-by-step instruction) and layout
featuring London Market.
Will
you use it for a travel mini book? A tea party layout? Perhaps just
some random photos or thank you cards. However you choose, London Market is designed so you could really play up some mint or forest
greens, sky or navy blue, or neutral colors and downplay the pink
accents. You could also utilize the neutral colored papers and the
awesome chipboard buttons and go with any color palette you desired – I
really appreciate how timeless the designs are, and how useful they’ll
be for years to come.
Instructions:
1.
You will need to cut a 3 x 4 ½ piece of scrap paper, as well as 3 ½ x 5
and 4 x 5 ½ pieces of patterned paper – use the same or different
designs.
2. Take the scrap paper
and lay it over the smaller patterned paper and use the pink paint dabber to paint the edges. When done, remove the scrap paper and adhere
the smaller patterned paper to the larger which will become the front of
your card. This handy trick creates the illusion of three papers, when
really you only have 2.
3. Cut a
1” banner strip, and die cut letters (or just use stickers) for your
sentiment. Coat in glossy accents, paint edges, and set onto card (don’t
adhere yet!)
4. Gather some die
cuts and arrange until pleasing, add a brad and spool button if desired
as well. Once satisfied with arrangement, adhere all the items to the
card front.
5. Complete card by edging with brushed corduroy distress pen and adhere to the front of a blank card.
Card Supplies:
In
the card above, and on my layout below I edged die cuts with my brushed corduroy distress marker. I love this particular distress marker for
edging small pieces! It’s so much easier and can get into all the nooks
and crannies. Even if you don’t think you’d use the other markers – I
recommend this particular one for edging. Love it!
Now
let me break out the full 12” paper pack, and really get layering!
While I can create simpler projects with this line, I embraced the
shabby chic goodness of it, and added in some lace, stitching, gold paint, and really just let my photos (4x6) and these papers shine.
Layout Supplies:
With
so much text and flourish accenting it, this line requires very little
additional embellishing. I do love every single piece of it – and I
especially recommend the buttons. They are chipboard and have a resist
finish that means that you can color them as you please! I do love my
neutrals.
I’ve
had so much fun creating and sharing with you today. Before I go, I’d
like to share some of my favorite ink, paint, and distress products to
compliment this line:
