My fave tradition? It must be, when the entire family get together the second week-end in December and make goodies and cookies for christmas and the second day we always use to spend helping all the kids crafting new paper decoratins, that´s just cosyness all time through for everyone.

This is a tradition that we started when I was little, and we still make something every year. ReplyDeletelots of fun traditions. one of my favorites is that each year I give my mom some sort of chocolate covered cherries b/c her mom did that for every year and since Granny died I have been doing it.

ReplyDeleteMy Favorite Holiday tradition is baking cookies, however since I've become quite the Cardmaker! I think making cards for the Holidays will replace the kitchen mess ! I'm going to give out a stacks of cards out this year instead !!! Just think of all the calories I'll save... wink wink... (not)

ReplyDeleteOur family gives back to our community by collecting and donating food to our local food bank. The shelves are usually pretty empty this time of year so we put out flyers around the neighborhood with bags attached and all they have to do is put the bags on their front porches with the donated items. Its a good feeling when you know you are helping others who have less at this time of year.

ReplyDeleteOne of our traditions is our Christmas in July. My father-in-law's family (he has five sisters) gets together but due to the number of people, July works really well because we can be outside. A couple of years ago it was our family's turn to host. We had a 7 month old Christmas tree, yes, very brown, and an equally brown wreath. We had a small pool for the kids, the adults enjoyed sitting in the shade and the noise was not echoing through a house.

ReplyDeleteIn our country we have tradition to go to the cemetery and light a candle. So my family goes on 24th of December late at night in to the cemetery and we light candles the one we have los. And in cemetery there are thousand of candles and it´s dark and white snow and so many people and it´s so beautiful and so special.

ReplyDeleteI love taking my young nieces and nephews to have their picture taken with Santa, make an ornament, get their face painted, then have breakfast with lots of other kids who are doing the same. Getting a tangerine or orange in our stocking is always a gotta-do-it tradition.
