  27. Our family gives back to our community by collecting and donating food to our local food bank. The shelves are usually pretty empty this time of year so we put out flyers around the neighborhood with bags attached and all they have to do is put the bags on their front porches with the donated items. Its a good feeling when you know you are helping others who have less at this time of year.

  57. One of our traditions is our Christmas in July. My father-in-law's family (he has five sisters) gets together but due to the number of people, July works really well because we can be outside. A couple of years ago it was our family's turn to host. We had a 7 month old Christmas tree, yes, very brown, and an equally brown wreath. We had a small pool for the kids, the adults enjoyed sitting in the shade and the noise was not echoing through a house.

Christmas day, we always read Luke 2:1-20 before any gifts can be opened.
