It's no secret...around here at
Simon Says Stamp, we all love
Wendy Vecchi. It's hard not to - she's creative and engaging! On
her blog this week, she made a cool creation using recycled materials. I can't get enough of recycling. My poor coworkers are probably tired of me telling them that I have a recycling bin in my office so we can recycle. I love any project that reuses, revamps, or refreshes seemingly useless or dilapidated things, so naturally, when I saw
Wendy's Yellow Pages Art, it made me smile.
Here's a step by step tutorial by
Wendy Vecchi:

First you'll need
Antique Linen Distress Stain by
Tim Holtz and a
Ranger Manila Tag. Color the tag with the
Antique Linen Stain. Dry (if you want to expediate this, use a
Heat It Tool).
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiUXE4qlNLrIZPnLtqetqa-5udkq504hpq4-ZA4QvIyc0WJaFdn0RET3k2d3L5O3FlQmgoeKqhuBW5Nx38yYpEkTQ8Xq3SBdCB34Y7L3R98bUqLN3Sh1zacoLvVonM3KBDoX5sSmxJv2Js/s400/wendyblog3)
Next stamp the
Script Background over the tag using Ranger's
French Ultramarine Archival Ink. Stamp a
Scallop border with the
French Ultramarine Archival Ink. Trim along the
scallops - try these
Craft Scissors - they are awesome!!
Use
Walnut Stain Distress Ink and an
Ink Blending Tool to distress the edges. Use
Sepia Archival Ink to stamp the
Postal Border toward the top of the
tag.
Die-cut one of
Tim Holtz's
Mini Butterflies from
Grungeboard and ink with
Wild Honey Distress Stain. Stamp over the
butterfly with the
Polka Dot Border and
Ranger's Monarch Orange Archival Ink.
Machine stitch around the perimeter of the
tag with
black thread. Use
Jet Black Archival Ink to stamp a
Spider like from Wendy's Botanical Art and
Sentiment, then edge the
tag with a
Gold Paint Dabber.

Ink some of
Tim's
Lavish Trimmings with
Wild Honey and
Peeled Paint Distress Stains.
Dry (you can use a
Heat Tool for this too). Stamp randomly with
Monarch Orange Archival Ink and a
text stamp.

Cover a sheet of
Clearly for Art with a sheet from the Yellow Pages and paint a thin layer over over with
Ranger's Glue 'n Seal. Use a
brayer to make sure the page is adhered well &
dry.

Use
Saffron Archival Ink to stamp 2
medium flowers and one
small flower from
Wendy Vecchi's
Live to Make Art stamp set on the paper side... cut out 3
flowers as shown below, then use
Saffron Archival Ink to stamp text over the
flowers.

Place
flowers on a
Craft Sheet and Heat to soften the
Clearly For Art on the
Clearly for Art side (faster than the paper side). Mold the
flowers into the shape you want while they're still warm.
Use the
Tiny Attacher to hold the large
flower in place. The small
flower should be fine without the
Tiny Attacher. Assemble the
flower and add a
brad to the center - stitched
brads look really good!

Stamp the
stem & leaves on
grungeboard using
Sap Green Archival ink and
Tim Holtz's Acrylic Block. Dry, then cut out.

Ink the
stem and leaves using the
Peeled Paint Distress Stain.

Use the
Sap Green Archival Ink Pad to stamp the
stem & leaves with the
Text Stamp. Shade with
Forest Moss Distress Ink on the
Ink Blending Tool.
