Hello and welcome to Day 4 of Simon Says Stamp Summer School!
Today's lesson is brought to you by the talented and amazing Debby Hughes!
For this lesson, Debby shows us how to take an inspiration piece found on the internet and use it to inspire a card design. We'll share what inspired her as well as her process as she created her cards. Get ready to be inspired! ;)
Hello!
Debby here with a project based on a little Pinterest inspiration to get you in the summer spirit!
Browsing around Pinterest I came across this wonderful letterpress print on one of Cristina’s Pinterest boards and thought it was just shouting out for the latest Simon Says Stamp exclusive dies from the Summer Release. :)
Shop the supplies:
To start out I cut several of the dies in a lovely bright green and played around with the arrangement.
Once I was happy with their placement I glued them down. Then I cut the dies out again from a gorgeous blue and deep green and enjoyed jigsaw piecing the colors together, gluing as I went along. Very therapeutic!
Finally I stamped a sentiment on a small white panel with a thin strip of deep green to accent it and mounted it with foam adhesive. The colors are so bright and fresh and the dies so beautiful that this card is perfect for a summer birthday.
I also played around with a slightly different layout of the dies for another card.
And finally I lined an envelope in a toning green paper as the finishing touch.
I hope I’ve inspired you to give your die cuts some love and make a summery card :)

I know we're inspired by these amazing cards and we sure hope you are too!
