Life Is Better with Friends

Hi Bloggers!!  Happy Sunday to you! I hope your weekend is going great! I'm thrilled to be welcoming back guest designer Kelly Rasmussen for a beautiful and inspiring card made with SSS exclusives and new BasicGrey products! Enjoy!
From the designer:
Hello, Simon friends! I'm thrilled to be on the blog today sharing a card with you using some yummy BasicGrey papers from the Mint Julep collection.

I love so many of the papers in this collection, but especially love them when they are all used together! The tiny patterns in the 6x6 pad work great for a technique like I used on my card.

To create the hexagons I die cut a bunch of different papers using the Hero Arts Geometric Shapes Die and then I just laid them out around my sentiment to make them flow down the card. I used the hexagon frames on a few of the spaces and then popped up some tiny hearts in the openings that were die cut using the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Die.

The mixed font sentiment from the Hero Arts/BasicGrey You & Me clear stamp set is my favorite from this collection! And the Hero Arts Ruby Dye Ink is a perfect match to the reds in the Mint Julep collection. I finished off the card with some pink BasicGrey Candy Buttons and covered the tiny hearts with some Glossy Accents. I think those small finishing touches you add to a card are what really make it complete.

I hope you enjoy the card!

A Note About Fulfillment Times

HI folks!

It is bittersweet that I need to make this announcement.  You see, we are so happy to have had a successful Summer Sale last weekend.  It makes our hearts happy that so many of you are stamping and crafting and journaling and memory keeping!!  However, we strongly dislike disappointing Happy Crafters who are eagerly awaiting for their crafting supplies.

We are so appreciative of the customer support during our HUGE Summer Sale last weekend!  As many of our regular customers know, it was the biggest sale in the history of Simon.  Simon's logistics department is working 7 days a week and practically around the clock to get orders out the door for you.  Always, we strive to ship all orders within 3 business days.  Unfortunately, we have fallen behind.  Please note that our normal fulfillment times have fallen behind by approximately 1 week.  We are hoping that by the end of next week we are all caught up and back on track.

Great pride is taken in our ability to fulfill orders in a timely basis.  During unusually high order volumes, we do our best to respond effectively.  Rest assured, your order is in good hands and we are working to fulfill it with great care and speed.

THANK YOU! and WE APOLOGIZE for any inconvenience this may cause you.   Our customers truly are the heart of Simon and we appreciate you so very much!

-Heidi

SSS Project Life by Nichol Magouirk!

Hi bloggers! Happy Saturday to you! I'm so pleased to bring you a gorgeous Project Life layout by Nichol Magouirk! I'll let her tell you a bit more about her project and then let the great photos & video speak for themselves! Enjoy!

Hello Simon Says Stamp Friends! I'm so excited to be sharing a Project Life layout spread on the Simon Says Stamp Blog today! I love to use my stamps and dies not only for my card-making endeavors but for my scrapbooking and Project Life pages as well! I knew when the Life Bubble Craft Dies were released awhile back that they would be perfect for all kinds of projects but especially for Project Life style pocket pages!. I love being able to create customized "thought bubbles" to perfectly coordinate with my weekly photos and layout spread from whatever paper I choose!
For the layout share today, I combined both pre-printed cards from Kelly Purkey's June/July Project Kit with custom die cut/stamped journaling cards I created from 6x6 paper, stamps and additional little goodies and embellishments. One of the things I keep in mind while putting together my PL page spreads is to keep them fairly "flat" with minimal bulky embellishments so that I'm able to fit a lot of pages into one album. One way to achieve dimension without the bulk is to use die cuts embellished with Glossy Accents. It adds a glossy dimensional layer but no bulk... I love that! Sequins are another favorite addition to my PL pages and dress up die cuts and stamping easily!

Thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope that I've been able to give you some ideas on how to incorporate Simon Says Stamp's fabulous stamps and craft dies into your PL or scrapbooking projects!

Thanks so much to Nichol for being a guest today and inspiring us to use SSS exclusives in our Project Life scrapbooking!!
